Dubai Gold emerged victorious with a score of 40-27, demonstrating their offensive prowess and solid defense. Meanwhile, the Dubai Ninjas took on the Dubai Vipers, securing a 26-14 win. In the semi-finals, Dubai Gold went head-to-head with Dubai Blitzkrieg, who had earned a first-round bye by finishing second in the regular season. With six competitive teams of 8-10 players made up of men and women, this league stands out as the premier adult flag football league in the region. The Teams and Players The league comprises six teams, each bringing a unique blend of talent and strategy to the field. These teams are: Each team is made up of 8-10 players, including both seasoned veterans and enthusiastic newcomers. The diversity in experience levels adds an exciting dynamic to the games, as seasoned players mentor the newer ones, fostering growth and development within the league. The Season Structure The 6 week winter season runs from January to February, taking advantage of the cooler weather in the UAE. This style of short, yet competitive seasons allows players to align their schedules, avoiding issues of long term commitment. The league pits each team against the other 5 allowing each team to play the other teams twice. This format ensures that all teams have an equal opportunity to showcase their skills and compete for the top spot. Games are held on Sunday evenings from 6-10PM in Dubai. Thursday evening from 8:30-10:15pm the league runs a training to allow new players to learn the game as well as teams to prepare for the coming game-day. PlayAmericanFootball.ae (PAF) is proud to officially launch its Youth Program in January 2025, offering young players the opportunity to develop their skills, learn the game, and experience the thrill of football in a supportive, professional environment. PAF, established in October 2023, is an American football organization based in the UAE. The company, (aka E E L American Football Training LLC), is a mainland trade-licensed entity approved by major sports federations including the Dubai Sports Council and General Authority of Sport. PAF is dedicated to growing the sport of American football in the region, providing both youth and adult players with the tools and opportunities to succeed. Open Youth Camps in November To kick off the Youth Program, PAF is offering two FREE Youth Camps this November, in Abu Dhabi on November 16th and another in Dubai on November 17th. These camps are a fantastic opportunity for both players and parents to get acquainted with PAF’s coaching staff, explore the fundamentals of the game, and see what the Youth Program has to offer. During these 1.5-hour camps, players will participate in drills to assess their coordination and skill level, learn basic football techniques, and have fun while getting a taste of what’s to come. The camp is designed to introduce new players to American football, while also giving more experienced athletes the chance to refine their skills before the program official begins in January 2025. At the end of each camp, there will be a Q&A session for parents to ask any questions they may have about the program, the coaching staff, or the development pathway for their child. PAF is committed to providing a clear, supportive environment where players can thrive and grow both as athletes and individuals. A Vision for Football Growth in the UAE Since its founding, PAF has been working to build a strong football community in the UAE. In addition to the upcoming Youth Program, PAF has already made significant strides in the region by offering after-school flag football programs for youth athletes at multiple schools in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, since January 2024. PAF has also introduced the UAE’s first official adult, co-ed flag football league, which has quickly grown to over 100 active players across the country, and recently hosted the UAE’s first international Men’s and Women’s flag football tournament, which was a huge success. PAF is led by Eric Hoerl, a seasoned football player and coach with over 30 years of experience. Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin (USA), Eric has played and coached American football in the German Football League (GFL), the highest level of American football in Europe. Throughout his career, Eric has been passionate about developing youth talent and fostering the growth of American football internationally. From 2014 to 2022, he ran successful football camps and youth programs across Europe, helping countless young athletes excel on and off the field. Eric’s extensive experience, combined with his network of coaches and connections across Europe and the United States, has shaped the vision for PAF in the UAE. His goal is to bring the same level of success and development to the UAE that he helped create in Europe. There are 2 distinct problems when it comes to adult sports in the UAE; time and money. We know there are a lot of amazing athletes out there who would love to join a sport where they can show off their skills, have fun, and grow their personal network. At the same time, our supply needs to be met with the demand that we are trying to create. To solve both problems playamericanfootball.ae has come up with a plan. All Adult Flag league players will be eligible to become certified American Flag Football trainers after only playing 1 season (16weeks). No boring courses or books to read; simply playing in our Adult League will give you enough experience to “Get Certified“. Once you are certified we can put you to work. You can get trained while having fun and making new friends. There are two types of coaches that we are looking for: Adult Flag and our youth After-School program. If you are a personal trainer, businessman, college student, or even a parent looking to learn a new sport and make some extra income, with a couple hous of free time on Sunday, or during the week from 3pm-4pm, then we are looking for you. PAF has over 20 years of experience playing and coaching American football at all different level, all over the world. We have put together a football licensing system to create modern and well-trained coaches for all levels. However this doesn’t stop at flag football; as the certifications get higher, other levels and forms of the game get brought in, such as position training and tackle football, which can open doors and lead to new opportunities. If you succeed, we succeed. Flag football will for the first time be played as an olympic sport in the LA 2028 Olympics. This is the first time flag football has been in the Olympic games.
